What is the most exciting thing about your job?
Working for a company that thrives on creativity and innovation. Also, being at a place that world leaders, entrepreneurs, trail blazing scientists, famous authors, politicians, movie stars, comedians, sports people and rock stars want to visit. You never know who might be dropping by.What is the biggest initiative you’ll be focusing on in your position going into the next 12-18 months?
We will be focusing on a strategic review of all our agency relationships across Google including media buying, creative, production, video production, events marketing, market research and will also be starting to look into decoupling.What is the most exotic place you’ve traveled to?
Being stranded on Urupukapuka Island off the coast of New Zealand for the night.Mr. Duggan joined ANA in 2000, bringing extensive marketing and advertising experience gained on the agency side. He worked in account management at Grey Advertising for 16 years, supervising major clients including Canon U.S.A. (winning two Effie Awards for effective advertising), Kraft Foods, SmithKline Beecham, and Sara Lee. He has been an adjunct faculty member at New York University’s Stern School of Business, teaching advertising management on both the graduate and undergraduate levels, and has a bachelor’s degree from Boston College and an M.B.A. from New York University.
Steve has worked with agency business development, staffing and compensation structures for more than 25 years from the standpoint of a Consultant, as well as a President and General Manager of two Advertising Agencies and a Company. He has also been an active participant in the evolution of media for more than 40 years. In addition he conducted agency reviews exclusively in the traditional and digital media arenas.
During his career Steve has served over 100 clients in every conceivable category. His articles on the advertising business have been published in The Harvard Business Review, Ad Age and Adweek. He recently authored “Maximizing Media Agency Value” for the ANA and was voted among the top 100 most influential media people twice by Mediapost.
With over 20+ years of indirect services procurement experience, Elaine has worked for several FMCG’s companies including Diageo, NA; Allied Domecq Spirits & Wine; The Paddington Corporation (Grand Metropolitan); Nestle USA as well as several services agencies.
Elaine’s experience includes successful implementations of several procurement etools as well as the development and implementation of Procurement processes to drive best-in-class results. She has managed teams for various organizations as well as served as a liaison with both agencies and global teams.
A graduate of Pace University with a degree Business Administration, Elaine also holds certificates from the Institute of Supply Management, Dale Carnegie Institute, as well as Toastmasters International. Elaine is an Executive Board Member and Immediate Past President of ISM-7 Counties affiliate group. Elaine and her husband Bill have three children and reside in New York.
Derrick Jackson holds the position of Senior Manager of Procurement at RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company. Mr. Jackson is a supply chain professional with over 15 years of experience in the Tobacco Industry. He is responsible for $150 million in Indirect Marketing Services and Materials related spend across the RAI operating companies. Mr. Jackson directs a team of 4 procurement professionals in a shared services model in support of several operating companies. He earned his MBA w/ a concentration in Finance in 2000 from Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University and his BA in Finance in 1994from Valdosta State University. He is also a Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) and a Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.).
Using his extensive experience gained across multiple sectors including Telecoms, Financial Services, FMCG, Entertainment, Utilities, Travel and Retail he can work with you and your team to help you overcome the challenges you face whether you're an Agency, a Brand client or a Procurement team.
Working alongside brands like Universal Music, Symantec, Hertz, Lloyds Bank and Vodafone he has driven core commercial strategies and outcomes always with an emphasis on maximizing the value of the organization's investment in marketing.
Mr. Kibel advises interactive companies, advertising agencies, media providers and other commercial entities regarding transactions for interactive advertising, behavioral advertising, social media, user-generated content, viral marketing, mobile marketing, affiliate marketing, gaming and other emerging products and services. He also serves as General Counsel to the Performance Marketing Association.
Mr. Kibel is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) and advises clients in many industries regarding privacy and data security issues, including, internal information security policies, contractual obligations and requirements, security breaches and incident responses, audits, cross-border data transfers and other matters in connection with an organization’s collection, storage and use of data in all aspects of its business. He also co-chairs the International Association of Privacy Professionals’ (IAPP) New York City KnowledgeNet group. In addition, Mr. Kibel has been recognized by The Legal 500 U.S. (2012-2013) for his expertise in the area of privacy and data protection. Clients commend his “knowledge of consumer privacy matters and the pulse of the FTC” and his ability to “negotiate favorable and fair terms for all parties.”
Mr. Kibel counsels both providers of information technology services and customers for such products and services regarding complex technology and intellectual property issues such as software and content licensing, enterprise technology implementations, consulting services, independent contractor relationships, outsourcing and development projects.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Kibel was an information systems analyst in the Investment Banking Division of Merrill Lynch & Co.
What is the most exciting thing about your job?
The most exciting thing about working for Google is being able to push the boundaries on "industry standards" and "best practices." At Google, we have the freedom and autonomy to be really creative and try new ways of working. I enjoy being surrounded by such intelligent, driven and innovative people. I don't know if it's that exotic, but I traveled to Cape Town, South Africa during the World Cup in 2010 and caught the semi-finals game between Holland and Uruguay!Ramón has over 10 years experience in procurement and supply management across multiple industries. He purchased a wide variety of products and services: from office supplies up to a steel mill in Eastern Europe.

Sopan’s leadership focus is to develop advertising & marketing procurement professionals across the world to empower them to help Nestlé win in the marketplace with customers and consumers. Previous to his current global role, Sopan lead the North American marketing procurement function. He has been with Nestlé for over 5 years, always in the Marketing Procurement area. Before Nestlé, Sopan was with NBC Universal on their Corporate Sourcing team. He started his career with General Mills in various Sourcing roles including Marketing Procurement.
Sopan will be covering a case study at the event on selling procurement internally – how to market your success to internal stakeholders, including the art and science of partnering with the business to deliver value for the company that meets the collective objectives of Marketing and Procurement. It will take place during the afternoon plenary on main conference day one on Wednesday 4thJune.

Steven Wales is the Chief Operating Officer for Decideware, Inc. Steven holds a bachelors degree in Media Communications from East Stroudsburg University.
For over 10 years Steven was the President and Owner of Transfigure, Inc. Transfigure was a software consulting firm, specializing in client relationship management software and business process consulting. While at Transfigure, Steven helped mid-sized companies adopt technology in order to improve their internal business, sales and marketing processes. By utilizing a structured Business Process Diagnostic tool, Steven’s team determined a companies pain points and implement technology solutions to solve them and foster growth.
Steven honed his marketing agency management skills at Mars Chocolate, LLC., overseeing their creative, digital and production agencies in North America. This experience provided valuable insights from a client-side perspective on managing agencies for optimal performance and success. Steven helped develop compensation models for use by some of today’s most popular brands and was responsible for evaluating the agencies performance against pre-defined metrics. Steven’s background has provided him with a deep expertise on how best to enhance the relationship between client and agency.
As the Chief Operating Officer for Decideware, Inc. Steven works with many of the top advertisers in the world, to help them utilize various aspects of the Decideware Agency Management Platform to more efficiently manage hundreds of agencies around the globe. In addition, Steven is responsible for the relationship between Decideware and several industry organizations including the Association of National Advertisers (ANA), the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) and ProcureCon. Through these industry organizations, Steven is often asked to speak about agency management at national and global conferences.
Prior to her current position, Marchelle was the leader of the Global Marketing Procurement Strategy team, during which time she executed and delivered the Global Supplier Rationalization Strategy, successfully maximizing cost-savings and service excellence across HP’s marketing spend.
Marchelle is a native of California and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management, with a minor in Marketing.
